Membership Requirements

Nau mai, haere mai. Welcome to Taranaki Timebank.

Please sign up and follow the prompts.

There are a few steps to do before we can finalise your membership...

- Come to a Get Started session, in person or online, and meet your local coordinators.

For Hāwera/South Taranaki Region  contact our coordinator Patina at

For Waverley/Pātea/Lower South Region contact our coordinator Jo at

For New Plymouth and the rest of Taranaki contact our coordinators at or 021 278-1246.


Get Started Sessions will be announced under events on our website or here where you can RSVP. 

There is a session at the Community Lounge of Puke Ariki Library, New Plymouth every third Wednesday of the month, 6:30 -7:30 pm (except December). 

Get Started sessions are also held online every second Wednesday and every third Sunday of the month, 8:00-9:00 pm.  See here for more details and to save your spot.


Taranaki Timebank will NOT do police record checks in the course of membership approval. However, if a project or organisation requires a police clearance certificate (e.g. because of access to vulnerable people) the organisation in need or Taranaki TimeBank will ask the member for consent before doing a police check.

- Bring ideas and questions to your meeting. Please have your drivers license/passport/other official photo ID with you as we need confirmation of identity to complete your membership.

- You can learn more about timebanking generally and our unique Taranaki flavour on our second website.

- Attending a Get Started session and the finalisation of your membership will earn you your first hour time credit. You can start trading with time in the bank!
